Easy Slow Cooker Taco Meat using doTERRA essential oils
This slow cooker recipe is so easy to make and you can use doTERRA essential oils to enhance the flavour of this meal. I use oregano and black pepper essential oils in this recipe.
We enjoy serving on salad cups with tomato, avocado, greek yoghurt and some cheese. I make up a large batch and use left overs throughout the week. Just add different accompaniments for a totally different meal.
Ingredients
1kg mince
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon beef bone broth
2 tablespoons tomato paste
½ teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon salt
1 drop black pepper doTERRA essential oil or 1 teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon ground coriander
1 – 2 drops oregano doTERRA essential oil or teaspoon dried oregano
½ teaspoon garlic flakes or powdered
½ teaspoon onion flakes or powdered
½ teaspoon paprika
Note: my broth is very gelatinous so is quite strong in flavour, you could add more broth if yours is thinner, you could also use a bought beef stock.
Method
Smear butter over the bottom of the slow cooker.
Combine all the spices together.
Add mince to slow cooker.
Sprinkle spices over mince.
Combine tomato paste, broth and doTERRA oils then add to slow cooker.
Stir all the ingredients in the slow cooker to combine.
Turn slow cooker to high and cooker for 4-5 hours, turning at about the half way mark.
You can add more broth if you like more juices in your taco mince.
Enjoy!
